Our banking division within Guard X Protection Services (Pty) Ltd was conceptualized in 1993; with the intention of setting up a discreet non-armed banking service to specifically cater for schools, which due to the very sensitive nature of children being in the vicinity and a real concern of one or more being injured or killed due to the possibility of a shoot-out occurring, all while during a cash collection or delivery.
In the cash-in-transit industry, where on average we are subject to cash heists every 2.5 days, our incident rate has been phenomenally low with only 8 recorded incidents in twenty-six years; five occasions resulted in loss of assets, two of these being attempted heists without the loss of assets and one resulting in recovering the assets.
Guard X Protection Services has taken pride in delivering a professional service to over 200 schools per week on the East Rand which earned us our credible reputation over the years. We understand that the insurance companies have standard minimum requirements regarding the CIT industry; however, our low incident rate is a successful result of our processes and procedures which we follow, namely;
• Servicing of low-risk clients; specifically, schools and churches
• The use of unmarked, unarmored vehicles – not attracting unwanted attention
• Civilian dressed banking wardens (resembling parents of the students)
• Unarmed banking wardens significantly reduce the risk of an armed confrontation
• No cross-pavement collection, with having remote access to each premises
• Use of Standard Bank, Absa and SBV bulk cash centers' only
• Regular rotation of area's and baking wardens
• Independent daily route planning by individual banking wardens, eliminating inside information and leaks
• Access of vehicle and asset tracking undertaken by the Managing Director only
• Servicing pre-booked or telephonic clients
• Pre-booked clients are serviced on determined days
• Telephonic clients unscheduled bookings automatically result in daily route and collection time changes
• Same day collections & deposits
• No overnight safekeeping
Emphasizing on the fact that we are unarmed and unarmored; we make multiple pick-ups before proceeding to deposit and not per individual collection.
Guard X Protection Services (Pty) Ltd itself is not a registered insurance provider and is not able to offer insurance on our clients' assets; however each client we service must obtain insurance and ensure they are adequately covered.
